still standing

August long weekend in Kelowna wasn't at all how I pictured it, but then again nothing ever really is. It was filled with boozing, clubbing, and sloppy drunks. I even lost my shoes on the third night, apparently you can't get into clubs without shoes. Which would have been a bummer, but I think we can all agree the shoes I bought [pictured above] were well worth the trouble. & I never would have found them if it wasn't for my desperate ass running into some random boutique desperate to buy footware so I could get into the festival. Can sure cross a lot of stuff off my bucket list after that weekend.

Stripes and denim

I've been crazy busy the last week, between planning the move to vic, spending time with my family visiting from Hawaii, and work, I've had no time for blogging. But alas, I took some pictures and have ten seconds to write. I went shopping for housing supplies today, my roommates were MIA so I ended up buying up half the housing aisle. All that's left is a stop at IKEA for furniture.

Why do fools fall in love?

I officially signed my house for next year today! It's nothing short of amazing: all hardwood floors, granite counter tops, our own patio with a bbq, chandelier in the living room, words can't describe how excited I'm getting. After stalking the house for hours and jotting down decorating ideas for every last inch of it I walked outside to see a parcel on my door stoop. I open it to find these lovely Bandolino shoes that I ordered months ago and totally forgot about. Is today my day or is it my day?

You been flying so high and flying so low

I finally understand the hype over American Apparel high waisted shorts. Oh hot damn, is the only way to describe them. Picked up some on a day-trip down to Seattle yesterday and might never take them off. Yes I know I'm a bit late to get on this trend, but better late than never.

Sugarlips

When it comes to the summer month's comfort is the main priority, and nothing beats loose tops with shorts, so when I so kindly received this top in the mail from sugarlips I knew I'd have to put a summer twist on it. I paired it with my favorite linen summer-time shorts and some flats, although it would have gone lovely with my brown wooden heels I'm still kicking myself for forgetting them at my house in Hawaii. Living out of a suitcase is getting old very fast, half my wardrobe is in storage in Victoria, a third is in boxes at my parent's in Hawaii, and the rest is in three, very small, duffle bags. But somehow this look managed to come together nicely, I've got to say my absolute favorite part about this top was the opened shoulders and back, just enough to let the summer breeze in but still make any outfit look classy and put-together.

Queen of the Castle

Whew, it's been quite awhile since I lasted posted. But low and behold my tripod was dropped on my door step today. Lately I've been wearing these high wasted shorts with everything, I feel they tie together any outfit, although with summer on the rise I shall soon be sporting all the lace and chiffon skirts I bought during winter, when the hot days were just a dream. Well I'm off to work, not like this was supposed to be my day off or anything, thanks boss.

ol' cowboy boots and denim

Off to a good ol' canadian hoe down, aka a cowboy themed barn party. Check-out the gems [vintage leather cowboy boots] I found in my grandma's basement, apparently they were my mum's when she was my age.

I'm not so sure cow gals wear sheer flowey tops and feather hair extentions, but hell I'm a mod-cowgirl and I ain't wearin no plaid. I promise I'll post photos from the party later on tomorow! Once I've recovered from the massive hangover I'm bound to have.
